Da Milano considers expansion in smaller towns

Leather fashion brand Da Milano is planning to

launch 20 stores over the next year apart from reducing its price range by 30 per cent to woo customers. It would soon enter the south Indian market and Tier II, III cities with a lower price tag compared to the metros. Entry into international markets such as UAE and Singapore is also on the cards, where the company plans to launch 10 stores at an investment of Rs 1 to 1.5 crores.

Da Milano already has 32 stores in nine cities across India and the new stores would be located in Chennai, Hyderabad and Bangalore. It expects the entry into smaller towns to boost sales of its products like women’s handbags. At present 25 per cent of the total sales for Da Milano is footwear, women’s bags is about 40-45 per cent and accessories and wallets bring in 40 per cent. Its revenue from sales in year ending March 2012 was Rs 65-70 crores and it is looking to grow at 25 per cent this financial year ending March 2013.

The company also embarked on online retail with the launch of its own e-commerce portal. Da Milano, a leading high end leather brand is also into the corporate and institutional arena. Their product range includes laptop bags, organisers, portfolio bags, folders, notepads, ladies handbags, wallets, gift sets, penholders and belts. The range also includes notebooks, notepads, folders, desk top sets, paperweights, pen case, pen holders and so on.
