Delhi gets ready for fashion fiesta

The Fashion Design Council of India has declared the show schedule for the Wills Lifestyle

India Fashion Week Autumn-Winter 2012, which would kick-start on 15 February 2012 with 138 designers showcasing their collections. Well-known designers Shantanu & Nikhil will present their designs at the inaugural. Known for their luxurious elegant collections, they will showcase their impressive bridge line (S&N Drape) for the coming season. Designer J J Valaya will bring the curtains down on, the second time he will do so, and quite fittingly on the 20th anniversary of his debut in the field. He will showcase his ready-to-wear collection inspired by the Turkish genre. The collection will be "a happy mix of Indian and Western lines". Colour plays a huge role in his collection and like always, he will start the collection in beige, moving to brighter tones.

Shantanu & Nikhil says they are extremely excited to open the show at WIFW 2012, the country’s largest and most significant fashion platform. FDCI, having successfully established itself as a launch pad for young talent, the WIFW Autumn/Winter 2012 will have 14 new runway and stall designers showcasing their creation. FDCI is the apex fashion council of India. Represented by over 300 designers, it works towards taking Indian fashion global by promoting the 'business of fashion'.
