The second Delhi Couture Week to be held at the Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi, will begin from July 22

and go on till July 25. Twelve leading couturiers from India will showcase their collections. Among these are Varun Bahl, JJ Valaya, Meera and Muzaffar Ali, Anju Modi, Ashima-Leena, Shantanu and Nikhil, Manish Malhotra, Manav Gangwani and Suneet Varma. Designer Adarsh Gill will make his debut. Well known designer Suneet Varma’s collection will be based on the Kamasutra. This is the second edition of the Delhi Couture Week. However, the off-site show that was the highlight last year will be missing. Delhi Couture Week is promoted by the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI).The two sponsors will be Synergy1 the official sponsor and Aircel as the associate sponsor. The event will also be backed by partners like Signature brand from United Spirits, Kingfisher Ultra by United Breweries and Mitsubishi Outlander.

The FDCI normally focuses on promoting fashion at its business-to-business event. For example, at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week it invites very few celebrities to walk the ramp. But at the couture week the picture is expected to be somewhat different. Talking about the fashion event Sunil Sethi, President FDCI says couture has always been immensely popular in the Indian market, which is why a robust platform like this is significant in capturing the synergies that cater to creativity. This couture week will bring together the best designers from India to create never seen before moments.
