Delhi to host ICAHT-2013 this September

The 9th International Conference on Apparel & Home

Textiles (ICAHT-2013) organised by OGTC, would be held on September 20 and 21, 2013 at India Habitat Centre in New Delhi. The underlying theme of the conference is based upon creative thinking. Through this cross-disciplinary event, the idea is to explore creativity and the creative process through the lenses of imagination and innovation.

According to an estimate, the global apparel industry will reach a value of 1,800 billion dollars (Rs 96,66,000 crores) by the end of 2013. This is inspiring apparel manufacturers to adopt new techniques to increase trade. New business models and competitive strategies are being used to enhance profits.

The conference intends to cover all aspects of the apparel industry, including the problems of small-scale enterprises in developing world, barriers hindering growth of this industry, the strength and weakness of manufacturers in different regions, globalization issues, resource and manpower scarcity, quality of the product, trade laws, adopting new techniques to improve productivity, managing global supply chain and finally changing apparel industry trends with ever-changing fashion.

The conference aims to provide an environment for academics, researchers and practitioners to exchange ideas and recent developments in the field of apparel manufacturing. The event is expected to foster networking, collaborations and joint effort among participants to advance the theory and practice as well as to identify major trends in apparel manufacturing.
