A new concept store, ‘Neel Sutra’ has come up at The Oberoi in Gurgaon. It will

offer designer wear by Rohit Bal, Anju Modi and Abraham & Thakore, along with Deepika Govind's eponymous label. Emerging labels like Péro by Aneeth Arora, Pankaj & Nidhi, Samant Chauhan, Urvashi Kaur, Rahul Mishra and Arjun Saluja are also part of the line-up.

The new store has an exclusive men’s wear section and a ‘Sari Room’, that allows customers to try Indian traditional weaves like kanjeevaram, patola, chanderi, ikat, jamdani, uppada and paithani, sourced directly from master craftsmen. Neel Sutra officially opens to fashion lovers on May 17, 2014.

With a deep-rooted love for Indian crafts, fashion designer Deepika Govind had a vision – to pay tribute to the country’s rich heritage of workmanship. And for this, she decided to bring together the creations of several skilled designers. That’s how the concept of ‘Neel Sutra’ was born. Bangalore-based Govind has been working on ikats for the last several seasons. She has used ikat in every possible western silhouette - be it a knee-length jacket, a cropped jacket, a short dress, a halter top or a bustier. She has also presented short fitted jackets and off-shoulder dresses in muga silk.
