Building on the success of its first store, Sarvoday Ashram has opened a second store in New

Delhi. Spread over 650 sq. ft, the new Ekmatra store offers a complete range of hand-woven natural apparels, including fabrics, garments, home furnishings and accessories. The Sarvoday Ashram that follows the Gandhian philosophy of simplicity, creates hand-spun and hand-woven fabrics supporting the ecology. The fabrics range is earthy and traditional and lends the clothing an elegant, classy and fashionable appeal.

Sarvoday Ashram is an endeavour to generate employment opportunities for artisans and weavers based in the rural handicraft and khadi sector. The outlet was inaugurated by Virbhadra Singh, Minister for Micro Small & Medium Enterprises. After inaugurating the store, he said that khadi was synonymous with the swadeshi movement led by Mahatma Gandhi, which has now become a symbol of fashion. He added that the woven with a hand spun yarn, khadi breaks away from the monotony of machine made textiles.
