Ensemble’s flagship store at Mumbai will host a fashion event from January 20 to 27, 2011, to promote

eco designs. A growing number of Indian designers, led by industry stalwarts like Lecoanet Hemant and Wendell Rodricks, have turned their attention to styles that are both good for the consumer and the environment. Mumbai’s society favorite James Ferreira will be showcasing his designs along with younger names like Pero by Aneeth Arora, Rahul Mishra, Anupama Dayal and Small Shop by Jason and Anshu.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale will go towards NGO Women Weave, headed by Sally Holkar, which aims to support women weavers in rural India and sustain organic handloom fabric. Tina Tahiliani is the executive director of Ensemble. Ensemble is among the upmarket boutique stores in Mumbai city. It hosts clothes from a handful of elite group of Indian designers. Among them are Tarun Tahiliani, Vivek Narang, and Asha Sarabhai. Ensemble mostly caters to those looking for traditional Indian creations with complex motifs, sequence work, and heavy embroidery.
