Fashionandyou bags funds through Series D round

As per media reports, Fashionandyou, owned by the Smile Group offering luxury brands and designer apparel at discounted

rates, has raised funding through Series D round. The latest fund raising has been led by Chinese discount retail specialist VIPshop’s investment arm. Existing investors Norwest Venture Partners and Intel Capital also participated in the round.

In August last year, the company announced key reshuffling of its top management in a bid to strengthen its core team and establish stronger position against its peers. Rajesh Kaul, former VP-supply chain at Myntra.com re-joined as Director-Supply Chain at Fashionandyou. The company also appointed Geetu Ahuja as CMO, who earlier worked as Director-Delivery at Tyroo Media, a Smile Vun Group company. It brought in Prashant Shivankutty on board as the CTO. Shivankutty was earlier working at digital agency Possible Worldwide as the Senior VP-India. Pooja Lal, who was earlier heading customer service at Bestylish.com (another Smile Group company), was roped in to look after customer service function. The company simultaneously promoted Suminder Pal Singh from GM-Brand Sourcing and buying to head of sourcing and Mirza Shahab Rizwan as Head of Operations responsible for cataloguing and store management.

Recently, along with Yebhi.com, the company submitted a petition to the new Prime Minister Narendra Modi for allowing foreign investment in B2C companies to compete against Chinese firms.
