Leading online retailer Flipkart has received certification
of Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard 2.0, a leading security standard for payment card processing. This means the company’s proprietary technology and platform, stores and processes data are in a secured environment pre-empting the risk of data theft and fraud. The certification has been awarded by SISA Information Security, a qualified security assessor from PCI Security Standards Council after an extensive independent audit. Flipkart has also launched a ‘Save Card’ feature on its technology platform through which users can save and invoke the details of an existing credit or debit card in their account, thus doing away with the additional step of typing in card information for every transaction.
Recently, the site had added men’s clothing to its offerings. Directly opening competition with other e-tailers like Jabong, Myntra, Yebhi, Fashionandyou, Zovi among others, Flipkart’s move also shows that apparel is one of the most sought after e-com segments.
The merchandise categorised under sections such as polos and T-shirts, casual and party wear shirts, formal shirts, jeans, trousers, shorts and 3/4ths, winter and seasonal wear and sportswear can be filtered according to price (high to low and low to high), brand and colours. The brands offered included Adidas, Arrow, Allen Solly, Crocodile, Lee, Newport, Pepe, Puma, Peter England, UCB, Van Heusen, and Indian private label Freecultr, among others.
