Cricketer Virat Kohli has been signed up as the new brand ambassador by apparel maker Flying

Machine. The brand has already featured the cricketer in print advertisements and catalogues that have been created by boutique creative agency Sharon Nayak Design. The brand hopes Kohli, a rising star in the brand endorsement space, can give a big push to its prospects in the days to come. Flying Machine is also in advanced talks with IPL teams for apparel licensing deals. Alok Dubey, Vice-President, Arvind Brands and Business Head, Flying Machine says “Kohli is a youth icon who has come up on his own strengths and skills. Besides, he loves wearing jeans and sports a cool attitude with associates well with our brand.” He says while choosing a face for the brand the considerations were on the criteria of youthfulness, upcoming, sexy and last but not the least Indian. And the brand feels Kohli fits in well with the image.

Flying Machine plans to come out with a print and outdoor campaign featuring Kohli for this cricketing season and a TVC for the autumn/winter season. According to Dubey three years ago, Flying Machine was a dead brand, before it was re-launched. Last year, the brand clocked sales of Rs 85 crores and this year, with the signing on of Kohli, they are targeting Rs 120 crores. Kohli also endorses Herbalife, Fastrack and Sangam Suiting. Previously, Flying Machine had the Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan and ethical hacker Ankit Fadia as its ambassadors. Also, last year, Flying Machine did a complete line for the Delhi Daredevils team.
