Aiming for higher margins through private labels, the Future Group has decided to hive

off its private labels Bare and Rig by opening separate exclusive stores for them. Plans are on to expand its ‘I am In’, youth-oriented fashion chain launched last year. The plan includes setting up more than 10 stores this year in Tier II and Tier III cities apart from focusing ecommerce.

The first exclusive outlet of Bare will be launched in Hyderabad over 2,000 square foot and will be further expanded. Rig, on the other hand would be positioned as an outdoor apparel brand. 'I am In' stores will be opened over an area of 6,000 square feet with an investment of Rs 2 crore each. The format targeted at youth will offer all in-house brands such as Jealous 21, John Miller, Rig, Bare, Indigo Nation and Lee Cooper.

The company is looking at opening stores in markets like Pune, Surat, Noida, Nashik and Ahmedabad since big cities are already witnessing stiff competition among national and international apparel brands. The group is also entering the kids’ apparel space and recently unveiled a range under the Scullers brand. It has also launched kids wear under brands Lee Cooper and Bare.
