Future Lifestyle acquires stake in Unico

Kishore Biyani-led Future Lifestyle Fashions has acquired a 12 percent stake in Unico Retail. Unico Retail is a company engaged in the business

of handbags, belts and wallets under the brand Peperone in India. Last year, Future Lifestyle Fashions divested minority stakes in ethnic wear firm Biba Apparels and designer Anita Dongre-owned AND for Rs 450 crores. Future Lifestyle picked up minority stakes in three companies, footwear firms Tresmode and Famozi shoes, and Mineral, a designer label from Priyadarshini Rao.

Future Lifestyle Fashions is the fashion apparel, accessories and associated products arm of the Kishore Biyani-led Future Group. It was created through the demerger of Pantaloon Retail and Future Ventures India. Future Lifestyle Fashions operates as an integrated fashion company in India. The company primarily operates retail stores under ‘Central’, outlet stores under the ‘Brand Factory’ name and a multi-brand sportswear and sports goods chain under the ‘Planet Sports’ name. It owns a fashion brand aLL that offers plus size clothing. The company offers formal menswear, casual wear, active or sportswear, women’s ethnic wear, women’s denim wear, women’s casual wear, footwear, and accessories under a portfolio of fashion brands. The company also invests in various fashion brands.
