Future Retail FY14 same-store sales rise 6.3 per cent

During the fiscal year 2013-14 Future Retail has reported standalone income from
operations of Rs 11,577 crores and EBITDA margin of 9.2 per cent. FY14 same store sales growth for value business that primarily operates Big Bazaar was 6.3 per cent, while that for home and consumer durables chains Home Town and eZone, was 2.5 per cent.The standalone business includes Big Bazaar, Food Bazaar, fbb, Home Town and eZone and its lifestyle fashion businesses that included Central, Brand Factory, among others. The consolidated income from operations was Rs13,897 crores and EBITDA margin was 9.0 per cent for the 15 months ending Mar’14. The company reported PAT of Rs 95 crores.
The company’s standalone business, reported a total income from operation of Rs 2,345 crores and witnessed gross margin of 28.4 per cent, an improvement of 170bps sequentially, on account of increased sales in high margin categories like fashion, footwear and home furnishing. The company also reported EBITDA margin of 10.5 per cent, an expansion of around 40bps compared to Dec’13.
During the quarter, Big Bazaar established its presence in cities like Bhilai and Mandya in Chattisgarh and Karnataka respectively. Big Bazaar also opened its 13th store in Kolkata strengthening its presence in the city. Big Bazaar further strengthened its position in Mumbai and Hyderabad. And fbb opened its 2nd store in Bangalore.
