Future Ventures raises stake in Clarks, Holii

Future Ventures India (‘FVIL) has made an additional investment in
CFFL by subscribing to 20, 00, 000 equity shares of Rs 10 each. CFFL is a joint venture company, between C&J Clark International, and FVIL each holding 50 per cent of the paid-up share capital of CFFL. CFFL distributes and markets all types of footwear under the International brand name ‘Clarks’ in India.FVIL has also made an additional investment in Holii by subscribing to 1,00,000 equity shares of Rs 10 each at premium of Rs 190 per equity per share. Holii is a joint venture company between Hidesign India and FVIL each holding 50 per cent of the paid-up share capital of Holii. It runs a business model of designing and distributing fashion accessories, such as luxury handbags, wallets and other leather products for women, under the brand name Holii.
Meanwhile Britain-based Clarks the fourth largest shoemaker in the world, declared a whooping £100 million increase in its profits this year, compared to last year. The brand famous for its casual style shoe range has been making headlines with its innovative Majorca Villa style, mid-calf suede boots as well as the new collection created in collaboration with retail marketing consultant Mary Portas. It got instant popularity because a special technology used for manufacturing these high-heeled shoes make them extremely comfortable to wear. The demand has been so high that Clarks had to start a waiting list.
