G&D ropes in Nathani to launch Disney footwear

B D Nathani has joined G&D shoes as CEO to launch Disney footwear range in India. Nathani is a footwear veteran with more than 25 years of experience in the field. He is credited with the launch of many national and international brands in the last two decades. He has been associated with the launch of Lotto (1989), Woodland (1993), Disney (2005), New Balance (2006), Hi-Tech and Crocs (2007) in India. Nathani was also associated with Liberty and Adidas shoes as a consultant in 2003 and 2004.

Having 20 years of experience in the footwear category and a market leader in kid’s footwear segment, G&D has signed a licensing agreement for Disney shoes in April 2012. Disney shoes have been made available at all important departmental stores, speciality shoe stores, MBO’s and e-retailing platforms from August 2012.

G&D Trade Zone plans to introduce all popular Disney characters like Mickey, Minnie, Winnie the Pooh, Princess and Cars in its footwear range. The company has set a sales target of Rs 10 crores in the first year itself and is looking to target Rs 25 crore sales in next three years.
