German honor for Zodiac Chairman

M Y Noorani, Chairman of the Zodiac Clothing Company, one of the finest quality shirt makers

in India, has been conferred the prestigious Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany by the German President. This honor is in recognition of his contribution towards building strong Indo-German business relations, especially in the textile related trade.

Noorani who established the Zodiac Clothing Company Limited nearly 50 years ago, helped in opening up the German market for Indian textile manufacturers way back in the 1960s. As the President of the Clothing Manufacturers’ Association, he helped Indian companies to participate in German textile related trade fairs. With time, these companies became important customers of German textile machinery suppliers. As a member of the Committee of the Indo-German Chamber of Commerce from 1992-2000, Noorani also played a significant role in promoting Indo-German trade and investment relations.
