The Gitanjali Group has been awarded the prestigious IDCA (Indian Diamond and Colour

Stone Association) Global Retailer of the Year Award at a function held at Las Vegas. The award is recognition of the transformation from being a leading diamond and jewellery manufacturer to emerging as an established global jewellery retailer with a fully vertically integrated retail and branded product business model.

Currently, Gitanjali has 126 stores in the United States, a presence in 160 stores in Japan, 45 stores in China and over 2,500 points of sale in India – which gives it a presence in all the important diamond retail markets of the world. Gitanjali acquired the Samuels and Rogers chains a few years ago. At the retail level, Gitanjali has stressed on elegance, decor and product integrity to provide customers with a memorable shopping experience. It has created a vertically integrated business model that accomplishes its goals of offering a consistent value proposition and integrity from manufacturing to retail sales.

Recently, Gitanjali was honoured by the Indian government for the Hyderabad factory as the best employer for people with disabilities. The factory employs more than 400 individuals with disabilities and will increase this number to more than 1,000 employees in the near future.
