The Rajan Raheja Group promoted Globus Stores

plans to launch independent stores under its largest private label ‘F21’ a unisex youth oriented apparel brand. Though the company had plans to open the stores last year, but due to slow economy and difficult market conditions, it decided against it and is now looking at opening independent stores with formats between 1,000 and 1,500 sq. ft. It plans to launch 4-5 stores next year.

After facing a difficult year in retail last year, the company is only planning to open small format stores in places such as Jammu, Bareilly and Bangalore, where the company is yet to venture into. At present, Globus has 36 stores, of which only two are large format stores measuring 33,000 sq. ft. Focusing primarily on youth-oriented apparels and accessories, the 13-year-old chain has been a private label driven brand and opened its first store in Indore in 1999.

And though the opportunity of attracting a global investor is open to the company, it doesn’t wish to do it since the company wants to establish its own labels. In fact, it is extending the product offerings by adding footwear to its private labels such as Globus and F21. Its private labels are: Globus, F21, Essentials and Poetry.
