European kids’ wear chain Gron Stockholm along

with its Agra-based Indian partner Taj Needle Craft plans to go online in the next couple of months. They also aim to make headway in the number of retail stores and take it up from three to 13 by early next year.

Online shopping option will be made available to Indian customers within the next two months. The company also aims to make a positive headway into the orghanised kids’ segment in the coming year and plans to open around 5 to 10 more retail stores by 2014.

Gron Stockholm houses products of organic clothing brands like Geggamoja from Stockholm, Mijn from the Netherlands, Bamboo Baby from the United kingdom and Jumina from Norway. So far, the company has opened three stores in Delhi/NCR and also got into tie ups with web entities like Firstcry and Fashionandyou. The designs and presentation of Gron Stockholm are a combination of inputs by its India team and designers from Scandinavia. With a medium to high segmented pricing strategy, at the moment the company plans to tap niche markets of Delhi and other metro cities.

According to a Assocham study, the kids’ market is growing at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of about 20 percent and is likely to reach Rs 80,000 crores by 2015 from the existing Rs 38,000 crores.
