Gulab Chand, a trusted textile brand from Jaipur for over

seven decades, has opened its first women’s ethnic wear retail outlet in Mumbai. Going by the flow of customers, and conversion rates, it seems to have become a favored destination for the city’s ethnic wear shoppers. Gulab Chand’s customers include medium and large size exporters, trendsetting fashion designers, boutiques, Bollywood and TV stars and people from the literary and fashion world.

With its unique mix of modern and traditional culture coupled with good sense of style, Mumbai has an inherent huge demand for traditional clothing especially during wedding and festive season. Gulab Chand offers a collection that is in line with the taste of city’s large cosmopolitan crowd. The boom in television soaps has opened up new avenues for them. The brand offers a range of traditional clothing especially for the wedding and festive season -- salwar kameez, suits, saris, dress materials, readymade dresses and kurtis.

Founded in 1930, Gulab Chand creates variations in traditional Jaipuri designs. The brand is also known for its bandhani, bandhej, crepes, tussars, cotton, chiffon, georgette, voiles, kota and cotton with hand block prints among others. The brand is planning to open two more retail outlets in Mumbai in 2010-11.
