Shah started off as a raw material supplier to garment exporters in the early 80s. Then he went on to create his own denim brand – Moustache which became one a popular brand gaining market leadership. His denim collection was retailed by the then famous shop Horizon in New Market, Kolkata. Recently, Horizon shops were converted into Moustache exclusive brand outlets.

In 1998, Moustache made in-roads into large-format retail stores like Pantaloons and Shoppers Stop. And from 1999, it started spreading its wings through EBOs across the country. Today, it not only has a presence in chain stores across India but is also available in most large-format stores like Shoppers stop, Pantaloons, Reliance Trends, Bharti Wal-Mart, and Central. It has spread its wings beyond India. Moustache is available Lulu Center, Dubai, ABS Group in England, and Court Shop in the US.

Apart from retailing in the domestic and international market through 600 brand outlets, the company also exports to the Middle East, the US, and the UK.
