With many global footwear companies either eyeing India

entry or planning to establish a foothold here, Heel & Buckle India, a wholly owned subsidiary of Heel & Buckle, London, a multi-brand retailer for luxury handcrafted footwear, is also planning to launch more stores in the country.

Sighting demand for high-end brands among Indian consumers, the brand decided to spread its wings to tap unexplored territories. The company has been witnessing positive sales momentum at its first store at the luxury mall Palladium in Mumbai. Now plans are afoot to open its second store in New Delhi in December followed by other major metros like Chennai, Bangalore, Kolkata, Hyderabad and Pune.

The high profile flagship store in Mumbai offers a range of about 400 international designs under two luxury brands each for men and women. The Italian brand Alessandro’s designs are priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 30,000, whereas the Rad Russel brand from UK catering to the upwardly mobile young men cost between Rs 8,500 and Rs 10,000. For women, the store has a collection from Singaporean brand Pazzion and Spanish brand Paco Gil shoes costing between Rs 5,000 and Rs 19,000.
