Hermès Q2 sales rise 16.7 percent

REPORT_ Hermès consolidated revenue in the first half of 2013 showed a rise of 14.4 percent
at constant exchange rates. Taking into account negative impact of currency fluctuations, growth was 11 percent. In the second quarter, sales in group-owned shops were up 16.7 percent at constant exchange rates.In the first half of 2013, growth was balanced in all regions of the world. Non-Japan Asia maintained its momentum. France and the rest of Europe posted remarkable performances in a difficult economic environment. The Americas had an excellent half-year. In light of the sales achieved in the first half of the year, the company expects sales for the full year at constant rates to slightly exceed the mid-term growth target of 10 percent.
French luxury goods maker Hermès will continue to follow its strategy based on creativity, maintaining control over its know-how, expanding its distribution network, strengthening its production capacity and securing its sources of supply.
