Herstyle.in shuts down shop

Launched in 2011 with Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia, Herstyle.in, an online store offering international

and national brands of lingerie, nightwear, accessories, fragrances has shut down operations. At present lingerie, fragrances, nightwear, swimwear, accessories, shoes, apparel and personal care products are still listed on the website.

With the e-commerce space getting extremely competitive and many entrants vying to grab a pie, Herstyle was not able to sustain or earn margins even on its discounted offerings. Most of the failing e-tailing start-ups are backing out because of lack of funding to sustain, mismanagement and also lack of planning in terms of marketing budgets/ROI and logistics.

Apart from Herstyle.in, there are various other lingerie e-commerce websites presented in India including Prettysecrets.com, Zivame.com, Bwitch.in, Strapsandstrings.com, Cilory, Enamor.co.in of which some are funded. Zivame had raised undisclosed amount in Series A funding from IDG Ventures and Indo-US Venture Partners last year in May. Pretty Secrets also raised an undisclosed amount in first round funding from Indian Angel Network (IAN) in October.
