Himalayan to present a natural couture line at LFW

Natural mineral water brand Himalayan has associated with designers Shantanu and

Nikhil and Brinda Miller to present a natural couture collection at the forthcoming Lakme Fashion Week. Shantanu and Nikhil’s ‘Live Natural Couture’ collection for the brand is an ode to nature and the Himalayas. To present the fluidity associated with water, designer-duo has primarily used fabrics like chiffons, georgettes and organza in soft, pastel colours, visual layering and striking headgears.

In May, the designer duo showcased their designs at the Ritz-Carlton Pacific Place Hotel in Jakarta. Models sashayed down the ramp in retro looks and flaunting shades of brick red, pastel and hues of green. The ensembles were inspired by the vintage look of colonial India having a contemporary twist. The impact of British architecture of colonial Kolkata was evident through their designs.

Brinda Miller has been instrumental in reinventing and rediscovering contemporary art in India. As an Executive Committee member of the Kala Ghoda foundation and as the Honorary Chairperson of The Artists’ Centre, Mumbai, she is known to be a promoter of the modern art. For the Lakme Fashion Week, Miller is working on a customised piece of art inspired by the beauty of the Himalayas.
