After creating clutter-breaking ethnic designs and motifs in handbags, Holii, the joint venture
between Future Group and Hidesign, is all set to add a couture range. To be introduced by September-October this year, the apparel range will largely translate ethnic Indian motifs into contemporary top wear for women. The range will broadly include T-shirts, kurtis and kurtas to begin with.It is also looking at exports to markets such as Jamaica, South Africa, Dubai and Europe apart from revamping its logo and store design. Holii has roped in Icelandic visual artist and architect, Gudjon Bjarnason, to change the look and feel of its stores.
Ranging from Rs 1,895 onwards, Holii bags are available at 12 standalone boutiques across Bangalore, Chennai, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune and New Delhi. The collection is also available at Central, Lifestyle, Pantaloon and Shoppers Stop outlets. The company is also planning to increase its store count to 18 by the end of this fiscal. It plans to open around six stores this year in cities such as Kolkata, Goa, Cochin, and Chandigarh. The Kochi and Goa stores are scheduled to open in July. In Goa, the store will open at the airport and the one at Kochi will come up at ABAAD mall. The retailer is also working in association with department stores to ram up its retail presence in the country. Holii will invest around Rs 5-7 crore in two years for the planned expansion.
