India Runway Week to kick-start on September 19

More than 35 designers from different Indian cities will showcase their latest creations at the upcoming third season of India

Runway Week (IRW). The fashion gala is scheduled to take place from September 19 to 21, 2014 in New Delhi.

The event will host around 12 Winter/Festive 2014 catwalk shows as well as parades by designers from cities like Mumbai, Kolkata, Jaipur, Ludhiana and Delhi. Organized by the Indian Federation for Fashion Development (IFFD), the catwalk line-up includes over 10 Genext designers, four budding designers and several emerging labels. The budding designers’ list include: Indulgence by Shirin and Cheena, Invokee by Indrani Chowdhury, Ashfaque Ahmad and the design duo Sandeep Singh and Pummy Bhatia.

The emerging brands’ category would see names like the Jaipur-based Kshitija Rana, Kolkata’s Gopal Roy, AUM owned by Nishu J, Amrita Sethi, Amit Sachdeva, Aarti Tripathi from Mumbai, Raas by designers Akanksha and Dhruv Arora alongside the fashion duos Liz Paul and Satya Mishra and Roli and Saurabh Khandelwal.

The event will also showcase jewellery collections from rising names like Kavita Gogna and Akassh K Aggarwal. Each season, IRW introduces new talent and promoted young Indian designers on the global fashion map.
