The vibrant shades of colours that are a part of rich culture

and history of India, is often seen exploding through designs created by Indian designers. And the global fashion enthusiast seems to be both noticing it and going a step ahead to incorporate this burst of rainbow in their outfits. Indian designers who are increasingly becoming a part of global fashion galas are seeing a change in international choice of colours from typical greys and blacks to very Indian colours. Designer Nachiket Barve, who has shown on foreign fashion platforms on numerous occassions, says that colour is a part of Indian DNA but is relatively new to most other places, who are primarily accustomed to greys, browns and blacks. The various Indian festivals, traditions and fabric and weaving techniques that get entwined in the designer clothing expresses an element of happiness not just for the wearer but others too, one sees a colourful outfit.

Barve feels, the audience loved to see elements of colour in his creations when he showcased his line in Argentina and London in the past. And he has seen international fashion houses waking up to more colour on their racks with shades like Rani pink, haldi and cinnamon are captivating the imagination of designers in the West.
