Top Indian designers are working hard to showcase

their creations at the first ever exclusive Indian designers fashion week in London. The Indian Premier London Fashion Week to be held between April 9 and 14, 2010 will see well known designers from India like Anamika Khanna, Narendra Kumar Ahmed, Rohit Gandhi and Rahul Khanna. They will be showcasing their autumn/winter collection for 2010. It’s being organized by Idea Weavers, an event management firm formed to promote Indian designers abroad. The show will be held at The Old Truman Brewery, the most prestigious and stylish venue in London.

According to Vivek Agarwal, Chief Events Coordinator, Idea Weavers, Indian designers today are at par with their international counterparts in excellence, innovation and creativity. Through this show, they aim to provide Indian designers an opportunity to exhibit their creations as well as enhance their brand business in the international space. The show will see buyers from London like Selfridges, Hoxton, Prey, The Cross, The Wardrobe and Harrods.

The Indian Premier London Fashion Week will mainly consist of five categories of shows. They include individual collections, group designers’ collections, Gen-Next show (aimed at budding designers), a trade show and an exhibition by both established as well as new generation designers. The fashion week aims to be a one-stop-shop, attracting fashion industry executives, domestic and international buyers from leading departmental stores and independent boutiques. It is targeting a wide range of 30 potential international buyers. About 30 models from Elite Model Management will be a part of the show.
