Indian Terrain reports Q2 net profit rise

Men's brand Indian Terrain has reported a five-fold

rise in its net profit at Rs 4.18 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2013. The company had posted a profit of Rs 0.84 crore in the same period of previous fiscal, it said in BSE filing.

The company's net sales increased to Rs 64.16 crores in the July-September 2013 quarter compared to Rs 45.82 crores in the same period a year ago. For the first half of 2013-14, Indian Terrain profit increased to Rs 6.44 crore as against Rs 1.07 crore in the year-ago period. Indian Terrain total income from operations in first half period (April-September) increased to Rs 105.02 crore as against Rs 72.17 crore in the same period last year.

After 13 years of successful journey into the men’s wear market, the company recently unveiled an online store to reach out to the rising number of customers logging on to shop online. The brand, has adapted multi-retail channel to spread pan India through departmental stores, traditional menswear retail outlets, factory outlets, and multi-brand e-stores. It already does sales worth Rs 12-15 lakh through online medium via third party online stores.
