NDTV’s e-commerce venture NDTV Ethnic Retail that operates Indianroots.in has acquired 100 percent stake in
JA Ethnic Retail. The company has disclosed these details in its earnings results for the quarter ended December 31, 2013. NDTV’s e-commerce business reported revenues of Rs 2.31 crore for the quarter, up from Rs 52 lakh in the previous quarter, which was also its first operational quarter. The segment has reported a loss before tax of Rs 5.38 crore for the quarter, up from Rs 3.37 crore in the previous quarter.The e-commerce platform focuses and offers Indian ethnic wear from various brands like Anouk, Bombay Dyeing, Chhabra Bros, Little India, eCraftIndia, The India Craft House and others and designers like Anita Dongre, Sabyasachi Mukherjee, Raw Mango, Masab, Manoviraj Khosla, Rohit Bal and others. The product range on offer includes women’s apparel like saris, lehengas, salwar kameez and kurtis and men’s apparel like sherwanis, kurta pajamas and jackets. It also offers accessories like jewelry, bags, wraps and others along with home furnishing and stationery products.
