Indus League Clothing has decided to restrict the number of

its formal men’s wear outlets since the market is moving away from formal wear and into sports and casual wear. The brand is promoted by the Future Group and retails formal men’s wear under the retail format Headquarters.

Launched in 2010, Headquarters has about 10 company-owned stores, stocking formal wear brands such as Urbana, John Miller, Indigo Nation, Scullers and Daniel Hechter. The format, measuring between 2,000 and 3,000 sq. ft. was piloted in Kolkata and then extended across cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Nagpur and Hyderabad.

In keeping with the changed strategy, Indus League is focused on a slow expansion of Headquarters. The company has also decided to focus on expanding the number of stores for categories such as women’s wear brands. Currently it has two such brands —Jealous 21 and Scullers. It has entered women’s fusion wear with a new brand – Mohr. To begin with, Mohr will sell through shop-in-shops, but soon will have stores of its own like the rest of the Indus League brands.
