Invista and Vardhman team up for Lycra fiber T166L

Invista, one of the world's largest integrated producers
of polymers and fibers, has teamed up with Vardhman group, one of India’s largest core spinners, to develop spun yarns with Lycra T166L fiber that has been specially designed for robust processing performance in the manufacturing of stretch woven fabrics. The core spun yarns manufactured by Vardhman with Invista’s technological know-how and and Lycra T166L Fiber are optimized for woven fabrics.At the Ludhiana Rendezvous organized by Invista, it also felicitated Vardhman for the long term partnership that the two companies have had, that has helped bring out consumer centric innovations in the apparel space. Speaking on the occasion, Neeraj Jain, Yarn Marketing Head, Vardhman said, “Lycra T166L fiber can be combined with natural or synthetic fibers and provides excellent performance for core spinning. We at Vardhman have already done successful trial of the product and the core spun yarns with Lycra fiber type 166L will be available from July 2013 onwards.”
Rishi Suri, Business Head Invista adds, “A common problem faced by the stretch fabric manufacturers including Vardhman is the breakage of the yarns during production. Our latest innovation Lycra T166L is the solution to this issue. It showcases excellent break performance due to high tenacity and thus allows easy manufacturing. At the same time it yields a finished fabric with a good recovery power.”
