Invista to offer fibre for ethnic wear

Continueing with its aim of offering innovative in fibers,

Invista now plans to create a special fibre for the ethnic wear segment in India. After successfully venturing into the denim segment with spandex fibre, which is now said to have made in-roads in denim industry with 50 percent share and with about 20 percent in the basic garment segment, the company aims at creating a presence in the lucrative ethnic wear segment.

For Invista, which has Lycra, Cool Max, ThermoLite and Cordura in its product basket, denim, basic garment, ethnic wear and active wear would be the focus areas in India, where they want to establish a strong foothold. The company would promote the special fiber for ethnic wear in textile clusters such as Surat, Kolkata and Jaipur.

With intimate apparels becoming increasingly comfortable with changing demands of consumers and the evolution of technology, particularly by innovations made possible with Lycra brand fiber, Invista, one of world’s largest integrated producers of polymers and fibers, and owner of the Lycra fiber brand, will showcase some of their latest product innovations at Galleria Intima this year. The Innovations, which will be presented are include: Lycra Beauty fabrics for cotton rich shapewear, Lycra Freef!t fabrics for no ride up underwear for men and Thermolite fabric for lightweight thermals.
