Radhika and Gauri Tandon the founders of Isharya jewelry line started off their lines in 2004

with the help of local artisans. And now there is no looking back. The duo created two or three collections each season, sold pieces to boutiques in the US and then started getting attention from more reputable retailers, media and celebrities. Now their jewelry is worn by the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Eva Longoria.

And to think that in 2004 the San Francisco-based Radhika and the Mumbai-based Gauri, founded Isharya as a lark. It was in 2007, when they started getting serious attention, that they went into brand-building. Their exclusive launch in Mumbai at Bungalow 8 in July 2010 was their first showing in India. Isharya combines the names of Radhika’s and Gauri’s children, Ishaan, Armaan and Arya, and is a unique fusion of Bollywood glamour and California cool. The rings, earrings, necklaces and cuffs showcase techniques like filigree or enamel, while others make use of material like polki mirrors or resin. They draw inspiration from cultural, historical and natural sources and yet have a classic, international appeal. Isharya was featured at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Spring 2010 Collections in New York. Based on inherent influences of Indian royalty mixed with a distinct international Art Nouveau style, the jewelry designs blend western and eastern trends. The brand sells in over 550 retail and online stores, including Harrods, Harvey Nichols and Net-a-Porter.
