Fashion designer Jaya Misra unveiled her maiden men’s wear collection ‘Nawaz’, is both formal and
casual wear. The collection captures the flavour of the elite, interpreting the aesthetically grand, rich and classical Indian fashion poised with exotic contemporary trends.Misra is set to express her style statement in the South Indian film industry, by designing exclusive collection for the upcoming Telegu movie starring Balakrishna, son of NT Rama Rao. During the inauguration of her menswear collection, she said, “I have always conceptualized my designs to recreate traditional Indian design extravaganza, I try to connect east and west in a unique Bohemian manner coupled with subtle sensitivity.” Ayushmann Khurrana, the debutant actor of the much acclaimed film ‘Vicky Donor’, was the showstopper for Misra during the launch.
After graduating from NIFT, Misra started her company Lustrouz in 2005 , a house that seeks to interpret traditional Indian crafts and design aesthetics in a contemporary language. The key phrase that runs through her creations is ‘ethnic-innovative’, with special emphasis on quality materials and exquisite craftsmanship, utilizing the skills of the finest local craftsmen.
