Johnston & Murphy to open 20 EBOs in India

American footwear label Johnston & Murphy, which was launched in India recently, plans to open 20 exclusive

retail stores over the next 5 years in the country. The stores would be a mix of both company owned and franchise. To begin with, the brand wants to establish a presence in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

The brand has entered India through an exclusive licensing and distribution partnership with Premium Retail. Apart from opening stores, the company is also looking at placing the brand in over 100 multi-brand footwear stores and 50 shop-in-shops in department stores. Currently, there are two company-owned retail stores located in Mumbai and Delhi. The brand is also available across twelve cities in India at various footwear stores such as Regal, Rocia, The Collective and Shoe Tree.

Johnston & Murphy is a part of Geneso Group and operates over 200 stores worldwide. The brand is also present in over 1,500 wholesale locations at department stores such as Macys, Dillards and Lords & Taylor. It aims to achieve a turnover target of Rs 100 crores in next 5 years in India.
