Judith Leiber plans to expand India operations

US luxury handbag maker Judith Leiber that entered

India through Marigold Group plans to expand its retail network in India by venturing into Mumbai by 2015. The new Mumbai store will be launched with an investment of half a million dollars (around Rs 3 crore). After opening its flagship store in DLF Emporio Mall, Delhi six years ago, the label is witnessing a steady growth of 17 percent this year.

Aiming to achieve a growth target of 22 percent for the coming year, the company is trying to attract eyeballs from aspiring Tier II, III cities with trunk shows in Ludhiana, Chandigarh, Hyderabad and Indore. However, small town expansion is not on the agenda as of now.
