Global sportswear major Puma collaborated with designer Kallol Datta for his Autum/Winter

2014 collection at the Wills India Fashion Week. The Kallol Datta 1955 collection showcased his love for art and paintings through coded patterns and layers of fabric. The ensembles had a mix of edgy sneakers with dresses, tunics and saris in cottons, silks and wool.

Keeping fashion at the forefront in their sports collection, globally Puma has collaborations with designers like Alexander McQueen and Mihara Yasuhiro. With Datta’s A/W 2014 line titled ‘Paranoia Pronoia for Puma’, the brand has entered the India’s world of fashion.

Datta studied women’s wear at Central St. Martins in 2006, post which he launched his label Kallol Datta 1955 in 2008. A regular at fashion weeks in India, he has been labeled as ‘the face of new Indian fashion’. His clothes have ushered in a new wave of ethno-grunge dressing.

Datta was a participant in India’s first Fashion – Art Residency at KHOJ Studios and is a guest columnist for Open Magazine and The Telegraph.
