Quirky saris have emerged as a strong local trend for 2013 and

the latest variation on is from UK-based designer and cultural thinker Keith Khan. Khan has designed a neo sporty saris, created in association with Mumbai concept store Bungalow 8 for India Design Forum. The 24 limited edition five-metre-long saris are made from an elastine-silk blend, allowing them to wrap snugly around the body, while the blouses fit like sports tops.

The blouse is made from lycra and jersey fabric is used to craft the ghagra, so that it fits like a pencil skirt. Because of the fabrics used, the sari can be worn more tightly, while allowing easy movement. The whole sari is made using one digital print.

The designer has created 24 prints, but customers can customize their saris by shifting the colours, replacing them as they want. The Keith Khan saris will be retailed exclusively through Bungalow 8, Grants Building, Arthur Bunder Road, Colaba from March 9, 2013.
