Fashion house Kimaya has launched a bespoke Italian

menswear label, Via Montenapo by Milano Luxury Garments in Bengaluru. The shirts range is styled by Milan-based designer Francesco Rossi and made exclusively with Italian fabrics from Canclini Tessile SpA. Inspired by the fashionable high street of Milan, Via Montenapo excels in making high end shirts, made from the finest quality of Egyptian cotton that has been honed to perfection by European design maestro Francesco Rossi.

For Spring/Summer 2012, he has designed three collections: the ethnic driven ‘Classic’ meant for daily use; the neo-traditional ‘Sporty’ that celebrates the ironic values of rebellion; and rootedness and the epic grandeur of ‘Luxury’ - perfect for those long awaited celebrations. The collections were launched through an innovative fashion show held at the Kimaya store recently. It saw male models of Italian and Indian body types sashay down the elevated granite runway. Ace choreographer, Prasad Bidappa, not only directed the show but also played the role of an anchor for the show.

By associating exclusively with Kimaya, Via Montenapo marks its entry into the Indian luxury retail market and has plans to expand to 25 stores in the next three to five years. With average prices starting at Rs 4,000 for a basic shirt going up to Rs 15,000 for an ultra- exclusive bespoke shirt, the label offers world class couture quality and style to its discerning customer who seeks a unique and distinguished way to express his style – an attribute that Kimaya is known for.

In the past Kimaya has housed many international brands like Trussadi, Pinko, Max Mara, Red Valentino, Kalliste, Versus, Etro, Michel Perry and many others.
