With the ever changing needs of the consumers, retailers are leaving no stone unturned

to satisfy them, especially when it comes to the finer things of life like food and drinks. It is the time when the wines are to be turned into private labels after food and toiletries. Liquor distributor Global Wines & Spirits and fashion house Kimaya Fashions have entered into a joint venture to retail Australian wines in India under the brand name Kimaya Wines. While Global Wines & Spirits will manage the sourcing, packaging and marketing, Kimaya will act as the brand partner in this venture. After launching two brands, Kimaya Chardonnay 2010 and Kimaya Shiraz 2010, in Haryana the company will subsequently move to Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. The wines will be retailed at Rs 1,200 to Rs 1,500 and will be available at exclusive gourmet retail outlets and five star bars.

Pradeep Hirani set up Kimaya with his wife Neha Hirani in 2002. The brand brought about a revolution at the core of the fashion retail business in India. Today, Kimaya is India’s largest fashion house and the largest buyer at the Delhi and Mumbai fashion weeks. The company’s current retail footprint is spread across Mumbai, Delhi, Gurgaon and Dubai. Going forward, Kimaya is taking the couture culture to new hot spots like Ludhiana, Hyderabad, Chennai, Chandigarh and other cities.
