Award winning textile and fashion designer Gaurang Shah known for his play with Jamdani weaves has

opened doors to his high-fashion hand-weaves store in Kolkata. The store features his finest ancient Indian collections and popular pieces of his work from the catwalk shows. The store is specially designed for brides to be and fashion lovers of occasion wear clothing that includes his acclaimed saris .

This is his 6th store in India. He has three stores in Mumbai under the brand name 'Vaya' and a store each in Bangalore and Hyderabad. He believes that fashion of India must have a powerfully symbolic role as each part of India is unique in its own way like the antique Odhnas archived from Akbarnama with the khadi fabric, embroidery on khadi , a renaissance of antique zardosi and the patan patolas , accentuated with Parsi embroidery, Kanjeevaram borders, gota and fabric textures.

The new Kolkata store has his new and internationally popular line of timeless saris and outfits from his collections titled ‘Ardhangini’ , ‘Gulbadan’, ‘Chandbali’ and ‘Stridhan’ an amalgamation of ancient, very intricate Jamdani khadi , cotton and silks.
