Kutchi Bandhej, a concept established by Pune-based couple Saleha and Asif, who

have been working for the past 13 years with the weaves from Kutch, a district in Gujarat and the hub of mirror and embroidery work has returned to Kochi after a long gap of six years. Kutchi Bandhej is a collection of ethnic and contemporary designs for women and the exhibition of finest range of bandhini saris, salwars, duppattas, kurtis, cushion covers, bags and clutches at Hotel Abad Plaza, in Kochi. The highlight of the show is the traditional bridal wear ‘Khombie’ saris, from Kutch.

The duo works with an expert team of skilled craftsmen who weave traditional designs with a modern twist. They are famous for handmade materials made of either pure cotton or pure silk. The concept is popular in all the major cities like Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Kochi. Special orders are placed by people of Kochi for the bridal wear saris from Kutch.

Kutchi Bandhej was started modestly in January 2001 by the duo who have fashioned their way into making handcrafted women’s wear, accessories and home furnishing.
