Ladyblush secures angel investment

Ladyblush, a Gurgaon based e-commerce retailer
for women has raised angel investment from Germany-based investor Rocket Internet and domestic angel investors. Incorporated and founded in 2012 by Rahul Sethi, Nagarjun Shrivastava and Suneet Manchanda, Ladyblush boasts of being India's first 'women only’ shopping website. It offers products like art jewelry, home decor, apparels, lingerie, nightwear and fashion accessories. It lists over 15,000 products and has around 500 brands and provides services to Haryana, Gujarat, Punjab, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, etcLadyblush intends to hit the international market with its products. Their investor Rocket Internet group, a $400 million startup incubator has created over 100 great and market dominating startups in almost 40 different countries. Its investment in India include: 21Diamonds (online retailer of fine customizable jewellery); CupoNation (offers discount coupons, deals, and vouchers codes promising up to 60 per cent discount); FabFurnish (online shopping of furniture and home ware); Foodpanda (provides online food delivery service); OfficeYes (online shopping of Office Stationery and Office Supplies); and PrintAvenue ( provides printing solutions).
Unlike 2012 when investor’s were becoming wary of spending on ecommerce due to regulatory uncertainty and high burn rate at companies, this year has been good for ecommerce so far. Recently, online shopping website ShopClues.com raised Rs 54 crores from Helion Venture Partners, Nexus Partners and Teruhide Sato, CEO of Netprice.com. Flipkart too received its fourth round and raised $150 million investment led by Naspers and existing investor Tiger Global.
