Lakme’s COO moves to Nivea

As one of the world's biggest personal care brand Nivea India is now scaling new heights

with the appointment of business honcho, Rakshit Hargave as the MD of its Indian operations from January 2011. Hargave was the Chief Operating Officer of Lakme Lever. He brings to the table his unmatched business expertise in the cosmetic industry segment. Headquartered at Mumbai, Nivea started operations in India in 2006, as a 100 per cent affiliate of the global cosmetics and toiletries giant Beiersdorf AG, and has been rapidly growing from strength to strength in the country.

As a Beiersdorf veteran Kai Boris Bendix, Hargave’s predecessor will be moving on to head the Austrian affiliate in his next assignment. Bendix says Nivea has become a very relevant player in the Indian market, enjoying fantastic brand recognition and a superior image.

A veteran in the business, Hargave is an MBA from FMS Delhi and an electrical engineer from BHU with years of experience in the corporate world. He has earlier worked with Dominos Pizza (now Jubilant Foodworks) as their chief of marketing was responsible for the successful launch of the 30-minute delivery guarantee. He has also had a stint at Nestle, where among other places.
