Lawrence & Mayo, an established brand for over 135 years, which

has now entered into watches and writing instruments is now eyeing retail expansion by adding 40 stores. The company is also keeping the newness of collections by changing it every three months.

The company has been in the engineering, scientific instruments division and has optical chain of 91 stores. With an aim to cater to the wider audiences and giving something new to its loyal customer base, the product range was extended by adding pens and watches. It now plans to be a lifestyle brand.

The plan is to reach out to target customers through online as well as its 91 branches and also through its publication called ‘Eye to Eye’ which reaches 25,000 consumers. With year on year growth of 12to 15 per cent, the company earns Rs 115 crores through its eyewear business.

Keeping the e-commerce boom in mind, it already has an e-commerce portal in place selling gift vouchers, sunglasses, timepieces as well as writing instruments. It also has tie-ups with Tajonline and several other portals. And is also a part of the record and recognition program of big companies, which is expected to contribute about three to four per cent to the revenues.
