Well-known denim brand Lee has introduced ‘re-denim project’ that allows a person to donate his/her
old denims and get a free denim curio, made from recycled denim. One can pick up a product of choice from a range of goodies such as ipad covers, pen holders or even bottle holders created by ‘A Hundred Hands’, a non-profit organization that cares for the environment and the underprivileged through recycled craft. The drive is Lee’s initiative towards being sustainable. The e-create range of clothing available in Lee stores was a major step towards this goal and featured clothing were made using lesser amounts of water in the creation process, products made from pure organic cotton and even products from plastic trash.
‘Re-denim’ project allows a person to drop old denim at Lee stores in Bangalore, Delhi and Mumbai and help communities in need across the country. Donating the well-worn jeans now is a feasible choice for those pairs that are no longer passable. With such initiatives, Lee hopes to introduce eco-friendly alternatives in every facet of people’s lives, including fashion.
