Former Australian cricketer Brett Lee and Panchachuli women

weavers of India produced a collection of Woolmark-certified 100 percent Australian Merino wool scarves that were launched at Wills India Fashion Week. Hand-loomed collection titled The Brett Lee Six Stitcher Series is a unique and naturally luxurious product. The line demonstrates the beauty and versatility of Merino wool as a fibre.

The partnership is the latest development for artisans of fashion that links international designers and Indian artisans to help ensure traditional techniques, skills and crafts of the artisan community are not lost to future generations. While most people know Brett Lee as a cricketer, he has many other interests outside cricket including music and fashion and in particular his interest in India. As an ambassador for the Artisans of Fashion, Lee was keen to be part of the collaboration with The Woolmark Company and the Panchachuli Women Weavers.

His show was a part of the Australian design showcase of ‘Oz Fest’- a wide-ranging cultural festival of Australia that is scheduled to run in India from October 2013 to February 2014.
