Li-Ning opens in Nagaland

Li-Ning, a Chinese athletic apparel and footwear brand, unveiled its first official showroom in Dimapur,

Nagaland. The Li-Ning showroom offers badminton sports rackets, footwear, luggage, apparel, and accessories. It is also introducing basketball shoes, as part of the lifestyle products apart from the brand’s exclusive badminton apparel and equipments.

Addressing the media during the inauguration, Lifestyle proprietor DJ Tali, who is also an avid badminton player said he convinced Li-Ning to open a showroom in Nagaland, while underscoring the potential that the state has in the field of sports, especially badminton. DJ Tali feels, if the response is good, Li-Ning has expressed interest in opening up a badminton academy in Dimapur. All equipments and accessories at the showroom will be sold at a discount of 10-30 percent throughout the year.

Li-Ning entered the Indian market through collaboration between Sunlight Sports, Singapore, and Indo Rubber and Plastic Works India in 2012. The brand was founded in 1990 by gymnast and six times Olympic medalist Li-Ning. Li-Ning also made a debut in the US market last year. It is China’s largest sportswear maker. Nagaland holds a lot of potential in the field of sports, especially badminton.
